Come explore the yellow pine
forest of the Sierra Nevada foothills. With mixed coniferous forests,
meadows and Snow Creek, there is plenty to see and explore on SFC’s
Clarks Valley Conservation Easement.
Meet at the Mariposa Kiwanis Preschool
parking lot
on the corner of Darrah and Triangle
Roads, approximately 5 miles off Hwy 49 in Mariposa County. Bring
binoculars, field guides, lunch, water, and wet-weather gear.

adventure and exploration. Come enjoy the wildlife, native plants and
wildflowers that SFC’s Von der Ahe Conservation Easement has to offer.

Come learn about native
plants and wildflowers from renowned naturalist, author and educator
Michael Ross. Known for its
spectacular diversity of native plants,
particularly wildflowers, this trail passes through foothill oak
woodlands, lush riparian areas and native rock gardens. Meet at the El
Portal gas station to carpool to trailhead. Bring field guides, lunch,
water, and wet-weather gear.

adventure and exploration. Trek through open grazing land, blue oak
woodland and montane hardwood. Meet at the Park-and-Ride behind Rite
Aid on Joe Howard St off of Hwy 49.

Birding Striped Rock

Join naturalist Len McKenzie
for a morning observing the native flora and birds of the Mariposa
Foothills. Bring the family or a group of friends for this 3 mile hike
on SFC’s Striped Rock Conservation Easement. The Striped Rock property
is a haven for wildlife and is a unique geologic feature of the Mariposa
landscape. Meet at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds parking lot off of
Hwy 49. Bring
binoculars, field guides, lunch and water.

Earth Day Hike at Striped Rock

Come celebrate Earth Day by
exploring a local scenic landmark. Striped Rock, a large granitic dome,
is a unique geologic feature of the Mariposa landscape. Property
consists of blue oak woodland, granite outcrops and Striped Rock Creek.
Meet at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds parking lot off of Hwy 49.

Jerserydale Rds., 5 miles off Hwy 49 in Mariposa County. Boots are
recommended. Bring binoculars, field guides, lunch and water.

Astronomy at Bohna Ranch

Bring a folding chair,
binoculars, and a flashlight for an evening of star gazing on Bohna
Ranch. Fresno City College Astronomy Instructor Garrett Wimer will take
you on a magical tour of the night sky. Telescopes will be set up for
viewing some of the interesting stars and planets. Bring the kids! Meet
at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds parking lot off of Hwy 49.
