In the month of August 2010, during beautiful California evenings, two invitation-only exhibitions and sales of plein air art took place: The Embarcadero Exhibition in San Francisco on August 7 and The Great Central Valley Exhibition in Fresno on August 29.

The artwork showcasing the foothill lands protected by Sierra Foothill Conservancy is stunning. View a sampling of the entire collection by the 23 regional and nationally recognized artists. The events were a success thanks to our partners, the artists, the remarkable crew of volunteers, and the enthusiastic attendees. Partial proceeds of the sales go to support Sierra Foothill Conservancy.

In between the two events, the artwork was on display at the Madden Library at California State University, Fresno from August 12 through August 25. The Library was open to the public and the foothills were brought indoors during that time. Over 100 people attended the three-part presentation by one of the founders of Sierra Foothill Conservancy, Chuck Peck, plein air artist Adam Longatti, and biologist and Vice President of the SFC Board, Rodney Olsen. Foothills to the Bay, Foothills to the Valley...

With this collection, SFC will take the inspiring beauty of the foothill landscape to urban centers with the goal of raising friends and funds for the foothills.  Two celebrations of the collection of works will be held at which paintings will be sold at a benefit to SFC’s land conservation work.
